My name is Katrin Hinterholzer, and I am a 27-year-old artist from Tyrol. Since the first COVID lockdown, I have been trying to observe my surroundings more closely and appreciate them more consciously.

Landscape and Food Painting

In the early years of my artistic practice, I mainly focused on painting mountains in particular moods and atmospheres. The emphasis lies in capturing these moments, as they are often overlooked due to the fast pace of everyday life.

Through food painting, I began to take a closer look at everyday objects, analyzing their structures and colors before translating them into paintings. The smooth, wet, or greasy surfaces of food also create light effects that fascinate me.

2026 – A Year of Change

My goal is to seek out the small joys of life and give them more attention. I want to create a collection of satisfying moments—whether it is separating a pomelo into its individual segments, peeling off a sticker, or hearing the crunch of fresh snow beneath my shoes.

From all these moments, I aim to create an exhibition that encourages visitors to become more aware of the small details of everyday life again. I want to interrupt the pursuit of life’s big goals with small moments of pleasure.
